"Sacred Deposits" is a series that explores themes of impermanence and healing via collages, wearables, and installations—using densely layered imagery from Precolombian art and mystical symbols. The wearable art is meant to evoke Mexican craft pieces such as pinatas, cartonería, and folk costumes, only meant to exist for a day, and function as both sculpture and performance. Combining traditional textiles with an impermanent material like paper to evoke the remnants of a sacred event "Sacred Deposits" invokes the cadence of a shamanic dance, aspiring to articulate the ineffable aura of healing in its pre-colonial origins. This series aims to create a cultural symbol that outlasts colonization and envisions a future where it no longer exists.
