"Carlos, Are You Still Vogueing?" The 2023 multi-media project comprising a video, a collage series, and a wall installation is a throwback to the vibrant gender-bending spirit of the Chicanx LGBTQIA+ community throughout the late 20th century and early 21st century. A significantly extra archive I composed comprising over 2,000 photographs and videos that are all wonderfully sissy and anti-patriarchal serves as the inspiration for this series of artworks seeking to honor the ancestors of our community, reimaging the narratives that once happened, such as coming out stories, drag daughters meeting their drag mothers, the shady chisme (gossip) from queens who love to spill tea, the hearts broken, and the new love found.
