​Erik Barrios-Recendez (b. 1988) is a first-generation Mexican American artist. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a BFA in Art Practice, where he took part in a very select honors program and was part of the 5th cohort of the Ellsworth Artist in Residency program at Art Share L.A. in Spring 2024. He is an artist who mainly works in collage, wearable assemblage, and installation. Such as chaotic collaging, a rebellion against traditional linear storytelling, expressing intersectional identities, and confronting cultural erasure. Queer theory, Chicanx studies, and art history inform his artwork as well as imagery from his daily life, fantasies, pop culture, and archives.
